These are just a few common questions…drop me a line for things that aren’t covered here!

How much is the deposit for my wedding?

The retainer is 50%, due on booking. If your date is more than a year out, we can split that into two payments, with the balance due on your wedding day. Please note that this is a retainer, not a deposit. A retainer is non-refundable, because I will not book another client for your date. In the rare and unusual event that you cancel your wedding, I would look to book the date with another client. If I can book the date, I will return your retainer.

Do you have a second shooter?

If you feel the need to have two photographers, yes, I work with a number of local photographers. In my opinion, this is generally redundant, especially considering the added expense. We can discuss your needs and see if a second shooter is right for you. The vast majority of my clients are happy with one photographer, but every wedding is different!

Do you also do video?

Video and stills are two very different skill sets, so it’s complicated. I work with videographers, but I am a still photographer, myself. I can assist with finding the right videographer for you.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry a million dollars of insurance, and as a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America), I participate in their indemnity trust. No worries!

What’s your style?

With more than 30 years of experience, I can work in any style. I do tend to think like a photojournalist, but I have 10 years of experience with weddings, posing formal portraits, candids, and reflecting the mood of your day. For comparison, you can call me a photojournalist with modern portraiture.

In terms of processing, you can look at my portfolio to see what I’ve done for other clients. Your photos will be consistent with my body of work, but I will certainly take your ideas to heart and I’m open to your suggestions. If you like muted colors, black and white, hight key, low key…I can process your photos as you like them.
